The Bangor University SNAP team recently celebrated EU Day, with other School of Oceans Sciences colleagues aboard the Mare Gratia.

The SNAP broodstock system has welcomed its first fish, on loan from ZSL! They have settled in well and we hope they will spawn soon.

The Bangor University team are just back from meeting the folks from SEA LIFE Loch Lomond who are taking part in SNAP. Thanks for hosting us and have fun designing and testing your egg collectors!

The Bangor University SNAP team headed south this month to hold egg collection workshops at SEA LIFE Brighton and Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park. Many thanks for hosting us!

 

 

Many thanks to our partners at The Deep for organising and hosting an egg collection workshop in Hull this month. It was great to have representatives from each of the SNAP partner organisations attend.

 

October 2018

On the road again! This time we've been meeting project partners at the National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham and Hunstanton SEA Life Sanctuary.

Last week the SNAP team attended the European Union of Aquarium Curators conference hosted by The Deep in sunny Hull. It was a fantastic conference with many interesting and varied presentations. Our poster introducing SNAP went down well too!

Just had our end of 1st quarter meeting. Three months in already! Despite the bad weather we held an interesting and productive meeting with our project partners. One extremely exciting topic of discussion was species selection.

Members of the BU SNAP team headed south to visit partner aquariums at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and SEA LIFE London Aquarium to talk about egg collection.  It was great to have the opportunity to meet everyone and we look forward to working with you.
